Claudio Agostinetto - Managing Director
Claudio founded Systems Automation and Management (Pty) Ltd (more commonly known as SAM) in June 1988. He spent the previous 8 years working his way through the ranks at Siemens. His key responsibilities, apart from the day to day running of the operation, are sales and marketing, tendering, budgeting as well as identifying new markets in which to grow and develop the organization as a whole. Claudio holds a Pr. Eng., BSc Elec. Eng. as well as an MBA. He has been in the industry since 1981.
Kobus Jobert - Engineering Manager
Kobus started in the Mining Industry in 1984, developing his career from Instrument Apprentice to Chief C&I Designer at Anglogold. In 2002 Kobus joined SAM as Support Engineer where his experience expanded to include a wide variety of industries such as Automation, PLC and SCADA systems. In 2005, Kobus was promoted to Engineering Manager. He is responsible for managing and mentoring engineering personnel, acting as system engineer on strategic projects and providing technical solutions and support where necessary. Kobus holds a NHD (Elec. Eng.: Light Current) and a BTech Elec. Eng.
Ryan Els - Marketing & Sales Manager
Ryan has been in the C&I industry since 1991. He started at Siemens in the service department and worked his way up to Divisional Manager in Automation & Drives. Ryan joined SAM in 2007 where he was employed as a project business development manager and has been involved in numerous large projects. Ryan holds a NHD Elec. Eng. and an MBA
Paul Rodulph - Marketing Manager
Paul has been in the Factory Automation and Process Automation field since 2003. He started as a Specialist Trainer at Siemens in the above mentioned fields till 2010. From January 2011 Paul was the PCS 7 Product Promoter until February 2013. Paul joined SAM as the Marketing Manager as of March 2013. Paul holds a Masters Certificate in Human Recourse Development from UJ and the Siemens Management Excellence Program from the Gordon Institute for Business Studies.
Weyers van der Merwe - Branch Manager - Durban
Weyers joined the SAM team in August 1999 as a Support Engineer after having spent 6 years within Eskom. In October 2003, Weyers was promoted to his current position as Branch Manager of the Durban office. His portfolio is broad based including managing the branch, remaining hands-on on the technical side as well as being involved in the sales and marketing drive of the Durban branch.
Pieter Breytenbach - Branch Manager - N. Province
Pieter started his career at SAM as the Regional Representative for the Northern Province and was promoted to Branch Manager, a position he has held since November 1996. Pieter has a Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Kobus Kotzé - Branch Manager - West Coast
Kobus brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience within the E&I industry. His most significant current achievement was being part of the Iron Ore Expansion Project at Saldanha as an Electrical, Instrumentation & Control service provider. He is also experienced and knowledgeable within the mining industry. He joined SAM in 2009 as branch manager Western Cape. Kobus has a Technical Diploma.
Kiereet Chotu - Non–executive Board Member
Kiereet started his EIT program at Siemens in 1988 and developed to be a Systems Engineer in the Industrial Automation Sector. He registered as a Professional engineer with ECSA in 1996. He later joined Karabo Engineering as an associate Director, providing E&I consulting services to the Business & Industrial sectors. He started his own business, KIT Systems, which provided both Engineering and Consulting Services, focussing mainly in the Mining, Mineral & Metals and Food & Beverage Industries. In 2003, he was approached by De Beers to head the Group Automation discipline. He ended his tenure at De Beers CHQ as a Principal Automation & Information Engineer for the De Beers Consolidated Mines. He currently practices as an Automation and Information specialist, providing Engineering, Project Management and Consulting services to various Industries, both locally and internationally. Kiereet holds a Pr.Eng., BSc Elec. Eng. He has been in the Industry since 1988.
Pet'r Chrastek - SAMSoft - Denmark
Pet’r joined SAM in 1991 as head of the computer division and was responsible for the development of the Sicomp 70 mini computer to PC link at Tutuka Power Station. SAM’s "Visual Automation" data server/MIS system has been bought by Siemens Germany to be integrated into Siemens new DCS. Pet’r was responsible for the integration thereof with the Siemens DSC development team in Germany. Pet’r has a Technical Diploma in Computer Science and a BSc (Computer Science)
